Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said on Monday that he wants to start lowering labor taxation for those who have the minimum salary in the economy from next year, noting that this measure will be taken depending on the budget execution.
„I wish that next year, depending on the fiscal measures taken and we also see the fight against evasion, we will try to start lowering labor taxation for those with the minimum salary in the economy. This is actually and rightly the big challenge. We will see the execution budget and, depending on that, we will decide how we will proceed. I think that the real challenge next year will be this decrease in labor taxation”, Ciolacu said at the Parliament, agerpres reports.
He reiterated that, as promised, there will be no new taxes.
„I promised very clearly that we will not come up with new taxes, so we will not go in the mirror with the taxation of capital. I am convinced that this will be done with the fiscal reform passed in the PNRR, not by Ciolacu. I did not know, at just like you. (…) And to tell you one more thing: I, as the prime minister of Romania, requested that the PNRR be made available to me. It doesn’t exist. Can you believe: the PNRR project does not exist in the Government of Romania. Such people took care of your money,” the prime minister said.
